Activists will be in Southampton tomorrow (Saturday 19 November) to protest against government cuts.
Members of Southampton People’s Assembly will be at the junction of Bargate Street and Portland Place, near the entrance to WestQuay shopping centre from noon to 2pm.
A spokesperson said: “There is no need for cuts! This government’s Financial statement on 17th November offers no solutions to the cost of living crisis.” Southampton People’s Assembly says the Financial Statement should have included the following:
1. Raise the minimum wage to £15 an hour
2. Energy companies to be run in public hands
3. Invest in our NHS
4. No cuts to Public Services
5. Increase Universal Credit in line with inflation
6. A wealth tax to be levied on companies making huge profits.

They have made these six demands into a petition which they will be sharing with shoppers and passers by tomorrow.
