Smash-hit improv Regency comedy, Austentatious, is set to delight Jane Austen fans when it comes to Theatre Royal Winchester from Friday 4 November.
Austentatious is an improvised comedy play featuring rakish dukes, swooning ladies and romantic entanglement – with a brand new and unique-to-that-performance ‘lost’ Jane Austen novel created every show – based on nothing more than a title suggested by the audience. No two shows are ever the same and previous ‘lost masterpieces’ have included Crazy Rich Georgians, Double O Darcy and Game of Scones.
Starring some of the country’s quickest comic performers, and performed in period costume with live musical accompaniment, the show comes from multiple sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, the London’s West End and a BBC Radio 4 Christmas special.
Austentatious will appeal to Jane Austen novices and die-hard fans and anyone entertained and astonished by talented improvisation.
Austentatious will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 November at various times. Recommended age: 12+. For more information or to book tickets visit theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
